NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE ALASKA CRUISES
There are many reasons why an Alaska cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line is the right choice for several types of cruisers. The cruise line's Freestyle Approach offers flexible options that are perfect for adjusting to varied port times on Norwegian Cruise Line Alaska cruises.
Several impressive viewing spots are on NCL ships, providing many vantage points to marvel at the panoramic vistas of Alaska's beauty during your trip.
However, NCL Alaska cruises have fewer options than other cruise lines in the region. Currently, there are only 4 ships sailing in the region. Plus, most of these vessels have very similar itineraries. So, they might not offer the ports of call you seek. Not to mention that many of the destinations have limited time ashore. NCL also doesn't provide preferential berthing in many locales, so cruisers might find exploring on their own in some cities and towns difficult.
However, many NCL itineraries include stops at Glacier Bay National Park. This is one of our favorite destinations in the region, and a full day of programming makes an Alaska cruise on Norwegian more enticing than competitors that do not sail this itinerary.
Another reason we are fans of cruising to Alaska with Norwegian is the cruise line's Free at Sea promotion. This package includes discounted drink packages and WiFi credits making it an excellent value for many., making it a great Not to mention, this perk also includes specialty dining credits. We are big fans of Norwegian Cruise Line's specialty dining restaurants. These venues offer some of the best food at sea, in venues like Cagney's Steakhouse, Onda by Scarpetta, and the Food Republic.
Those traveling as a party of 1 may also find NCL Alaska cruises appealing. The cruise line caters to solo travelers with dedicated cabins and social spaces on several of its ships that cruise to Alaska.
While the cruise line does not offer much onboard enrichment or education during the trip, Norwegians know how to party. On their ships, there is a variety of vibrant nightlife and entertainment options every night of the cruise.
With all of the onboard amenities and options, a Norwegian Alaska Cruise is great for families. Multigenerational groups will appreciate the flexibility, dining options, onboard attractions and entertainment, dedicated youth spaces, and adults-only spaces.
Not to mention NCL's top-notch spas and thermal suites, offering breathtaking views and rejuvenating experiences during the voyage.

I’ve just disembarked a cruise where I travelled 1458 miles across Japan. I saw lots of things I expected like castles, temples and amazing toilets but also saw and did things I never could have predicted. From fizzy milk to orange sandwiches. Hot sauce vending machines to hats for cats. Every single minute of this cruise was unbelievable and has to be seen to be believed.

I didn’t know if I was being too optimistic with my to-do list and I hoped that doing a mix of cruise line excursions and trips by myself would be the right idea. As I had travelled over 5000 miles to take this cruise I really didn’t want anything to go wrong. I started my journey in Tokyo where I stayed for a couple of nights to try to get used to the time difference. Tokyo is 9 hours ahead of London so I flew overnight, basically skipped forward a day and arrived in the evening again. I didn’t see the sun for two days but that didn’t matter, I was so excited.

Guests can expect more outdoor space along Ocean Boulevard, an expanded Vibe Beach Club and the main pool deck. Norwegian Aqua will also feature brand new experiences like the first at sea hybrid roller-coaster and waterslide, the Aqua Slidecoaster and Glow Court digital sports complex.
For those seeking a luxurious hideaway, NCL’s first ever three-bedroom Duplex Haven Suites will be a great addition to The Haven by Norwegian complex, the largest in the fleet, offering exclusive access to a dedicated sun deck, infinity pool, outdoor spa and more.
After an introductory series of sailings from Port Canaveral Norwegian Aqua will offer Bermuda itineraries from New York City, August to October 2025, followed by Caribbean departures from Miami through April 2026.

Norwegian Cruise Line ordered four ships under Project Leonardo in February 2017, which included Norwegian Viva.[4] The ship was christened in Miami in November 2023.
On Friday, December 15th, 2023 the Autoridad de los Puertos de Puerto Rico welcomed the Norwegian Viva to its home port in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Itineraries departing from San Juan will make stops throughout the Caribbean on various 7-day cruises between December 2023 and March 2024. Departures will begin from the Pan American Pier in Old San Juan. Prior to arriving in Puerto Rico, the ship was baptized by the Godfather of the ship, Luis Fonsi.
